UPDATE: Check out our Top 10 pick of the best ones from across the Labour blogosphere or the new logo generator from Boldfire (the 'official' one has been taken down)!

EXCLUSIVE: As seen at Labour Matters, Tom Harris, LabourList, Kerron Cross, Kez Degdale, Grace Fletcher-Hackwood and others who picked up our original scoop: the hilarious Tory logo generator!

In 2004 the Bush presidential campaign produced an online "poster generator" for use by their activists. Unofficially dubbed The Sloganator, the purpose was to type in a strapline and receive a professionally typefaced and formatted image with whatever text you wanted: "Librarians for Bush/Cheney" or whatever. You get the idea.

Bush/Cheney posterAn enterprising member of Bosworth Conservative Future has spent rather a lot of time doing the same thing for CF and the Tories. Rest assured, it complies with the official party identity guidelines!

It's a shame no one told them what happened to the Bush/Cheney tool way back when: it got pulled because people were using it to mock the Republican ticket. Democratic activists began reeling off material with taglines such as "run for your lives" and "but not if you're gay". In the words of Wonkette's Anne Marie Cox:

"If someone made up a bunch of posters and did them on Photoshop no one would care. It's the juvenile glee of having the campaign be the ones to do it"

So our thanks go out to Bosworth Conservative Future! Here's what we've managed to come up with so far using the Tory logo maker:

1 - At least we're not stuck with Prescott!!
2 - We've said sorry - have you?
3 - Looking forward to June 2010
4 - A cure for your Labour pains

Oh, and before anyone moans about me being a Tory, I voted Labour in 1997 and, after the last 12 years, am actually ashamed that I did.

Jack Straw for Labour Leader please!

This is such a wizard wheeze, why don't you get someone techie [tetchy?] in the Labour Party to 'crib' the idea and 'borrow' the logo ?

Someone must have the wherewithal to do this ?

"milking the recession" - not that Labour would ever have dreamed of milking the preceeding credit boom and claiming it was all according to plan!

"floreat etona" - and presumably Fettes too?

"but not if you're gay" - http://www.pinknews.co.uk/news...5-662.html

Stephanie, in terms of that PinkNews article, there is plenty on that website criticising the Tories record on equality issues. Also see this from the Guardian:

Actually "green policies, blue rinse" is pretty accurate here in Copeland.

As is:

"We'll never say sorry to the miners"

"We're pro-nuclear. No really we are. Honest!"

"The West Cumberland Hospital is safe in our hands"

"Vote for nuclear job cuts!"

"Keeping the plebs out of Kirkstanton since 1597"

"Better roads; less investment"

Just for Chris Whiteside, Tory PPC:

"I've convinced the pundits I'll take Copeland: prove me right!"

"St. Albans really wanted me: that's why I'm here"
