It is with sadness that we pass on the news that a former longstanding Blackburn Councillor, Gordon Toole, passed away on Sunday 11th August, following a short illness. Gordon was a well regarded Councillor serving the Moorgate Ward for many years. In two spells – 1979 to 1992 and 1994 to 1997 Gordon served for over 16 years, and was also Mayor of Blackburn between 1988 and 1989. Gordon also served the Queens Park & Shadsworth Ward on Lancashire County Council between 1993 and 1998. Gordon will be well known particularly to members in Mill Hill & Moorgate and in Ewood Ward.
