Councillor Iftakhar Hussain
Iftakhar was brought up in this area and has lived in Blackburn for over 30 years. He is married with children who went to local schools. Iftahkar is an executive member of Bangor Street Community Association and was formerly a Parent Governor of Brookhouse Primary School.

Councillor Shaukat Hussain
Shaukat has been Councillor for the area since 2012. He has lived in the Bastwell area for nearly 40 years and is well known in the local community. He has been active within the voluntary sector for 30 years and including as chairman and senior shop steward for the Unite Union and a Governor at Brookhouse Primary School.

Councillor Parwaiz Akhtar
Parwaiz has lived in Blackburn for over 40 years. He is married with three children who are all studying at university and has worked at Training 2000 Ltd, Blackburn for over 20 years. Parwaiz has been active within voluntary work for over 30 years providing help, guidance and assistance on many issues to people from the community, charity work and fundraising, organising events and helping to set up and develop community action groups.
